Since receiving a donation from the late Nigel Nichols ( see Legacy page ) the future of the band has been secured, this act of kindness on the part of Mr. Nicholls has been amazingly positive for the band and we wish to pass on this kindness as much as possible by donating the profits from some of our concerts to local charitable organisations.
2016 Spring Concertwas in aid of Lois Russell and £250 was donated.
2015 Summer Concert was in aid of Kempston Boys & Girls Brigade and £200 was donated to each.
2015 Spring Concert was in aid of Sue Ryder Kempston Support Group. From the proceeds of the concert £300 was donated to this worthy cause.
2014 Christmas Concert was in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. From the proceeds of the concert £350 was donated to this worthy cause.
2013 Summer Concertwas dedicated to the life of our late treasurer
and dear friend
Graham Bigg. The concert raised £1350, which was donated to the Vision Fund of Kempston East Methodist Church and our local King Street Surgery. Sarah Bigg presented a cheque for £1000 to Dr Wilkinson (pictured left) from King Street Surgery and a cheque for £500 to Roger Skipper (pictured right) from the Vision Fund at Kempston East Methodist Church. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the concert such a great success. It is a great legacy from our late Treasurer and dear friend, Graham Bigg.
Kempston Concert Band
2014 Summer Concertwas in aid of the Bedford and District Cerebral Palsy Society and £300 was raised. The concert celebrated the music of Barry Gray - featuring Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Joe 90, Space 1999 & Thunderbirds and we had a World Cup themed raffle.
2014 Spring Concertwas in aid Headway Bedford and £250 was donated.
